Just wanted to again thank you for the great job you did today. Had you asked I certainly would have agreed to hazardous duty pay! (Shearer’s note: hazard duty reference is related to the fact that it was nearly 100 degrees and very humid and we did 5 cria in the barn. I was soaked when done!)

Jay,

Thank you for helping to make our 1st 'home' shearing successful.  We appreciated your willingness to show everyone what/how to help.

Everyone enjoyed themselves and said that they would be back again next year to help out!

Thanks :)

We want to thank you for shearing our Alpacas on May 15, 2005. You did a great job, very professional and thorough. First time in 2004 we had them sheared , they were stressed out, but when you did them everything was great. You did their teeth and shots without problems, and we were very happy the way you handled them. You were very informative on how we were to do this job and by the second Alpaca, we understood just what to do. Thank you again for the great job.

P.S. See you next year.
John and I were extremely pleased with our shearing experience from the start. Our first communication with Jay was outstanding. We had contacted him via email to see if he would be willing to come and shear our herd for us this year. He responded promptly and asked pertinent questions that made us feel confident that he knew what he was talking about. He sounded genuinely concerned for all the alpaca’s well-being. We kept in touch over the winter to ensure that everything would be ready to go when spring arrived and our scheduled shearing date approached. As Jay lives about 4 hours away, he arrived on Friday night and spent the night with us so that we could get an early start Saturday morning. He is a wonderful house guest. We started shearing at 7:30 AM and had the entire herd sheared by 12:30. We sheared 12 alpacas during that time. Jay not only sheared them, but also trimmed their teeth if they needed it. We are extremely pleased with the work that Jay did. The alpacas were not stressed, he did a great job and trimmed them to our specifications. He took great care to do a good job. He is very proficient with his shears. He was easy and fun to work with and the entire family enjoyed being around him. He is welcome at our farm anytime and we sure hope that he will come back again next year.

We felt very lucky to be able to line up Jay to do the shearing of our small, alpaca herd for May, 2005. He is very knowledgeable regarding alpacas and the shearing process. He briefed us via e-mail regarding his needs to assure an efficient process prior to his arrival. He was supportive and helpful with instructions for the nearly novice group gathered to assist on our chosen morning. With Jay's help we worked well together and completed the task in the few hours allotted. The alpaca were much happier to rid themselves of the no longer needed winter coats. Jay is easy to work with and did a terrific job shearing the alpaca to perfection.
We love their poofy tails!
